CALL TO ACTION FOR OUR GRANVILLE COMMUNITY

Dear beloved members of our Granville Community:

The Granville Community Foundation has been dedicated to supporting our community for almost 50 years. Year after year, GCF provides much-needed grant money to non-profit organizations that affect positive change, create memorable experiences and support Granvillians as a whole.

As leaders in our community, the Granville Community Foundation Board has been actively working to determine the best course of action for us to continue to support Granville in this changing world. In an effort to be at the ready for whatever needs our community has as we navigate this unchartered health situation, GCF is hereby respectfully asking for donations that will be used to help our community both make it through and rebound from the coronavirus pandemic. We will direct all donations to two funds, The Carl Frazier Fund and the GCF General Fund.

The Carl Frazier Fund: Carl Frazier was one of the original founders of the Granville Community Foundation and this fund honors his lifelong commitment to helping people. This fund allows our designated funds administrator, the Licking County Coalition for Housing, to disperse emergency funds to residents who live or work in the Granville Exempted Village School District and are in need of emergency assistance. These needs include, but are not limited to, rent, temporary housing funds, and utility and/or food vouchers as a result of the pandemic crisis. The Granville Community Foundation will put $30,000 into this fund to begin to assist individuals and families in our community. Individuals and families who require assistance should submit their request directly to the Licking County Coalition for Housing by calling 740-345-1970, visiting their website, or by email, info@lcchousing.org. Anonymity will be maintained for all applicants.

The GCF General Fund: Other GCF grant monies will be utilized to support non-profits and public or quasi-public agencies who are in need of emergency assistance as result of the pandemic and are helping our community in this time of need. Organizations in need are asked to contact our Director of Operations by email at granvillecommunityfoundation@gmail.com, stating their needs and funding requirements. Our goal is to provide funds as quickly as possible to approved requests.

Although GCF is committed to using our 2020 grant monies to begin these funds, they are limited. Many of our friends and neighbors are asking what they can do now to help… making a monetary donation is one easy option that will support the greater good of our community as a whole. Donations are most easily made online at http://www.granvillecommunityfoundation.org/donate. Please specify if you would prefer for your donation to go only to the Carl Frazier Fund.

As we move into unchartered waters, we ask you, our friends and neighbors, to remember what makes Granville great. To continue to be thoughtful and kind, generous and caring. To ask for help when it is needed. To provide help when able. To follow health guidelines that are designed to keep us all safe. We thank you for your consideration and wish you the best in the coming weeks and months. #GRANVILLETOGETHER

 Respectfully,

Angela Katona
